Classroom Owl Cut Outs

Hello Beloved School Girls!
Today's DIY are Classroom Owl Cut Outs for bulletin boards.
This is what the final products look like, I hope you enjoy them!

Materials:
Card stock in your class colors
Pattern card stock for the wings
White and black card stock for the eyes
Left over orange for the beek and feet
Heart whole punch for the feet
Circle whole punch for the eyes (2 differnt sizes- I used 1.5in and 1in)

This is the card stock I used.  I bought mine at Walmart .  The 12 x 12 was $5 for a 30 count and the 4.5 x 7.25 was about $3 for 100 sheets.

Directions:
First I traced an owl shape to my liking out of a thin scrap cardboard piece as you can see on the top of the picture. Keeping in mind the size of my owl, I traced it to the size/color card stock and cut it out.  I did the same with the wings.  I made a template of my liking/size so that both wings would be the same.  Then, I cut out the circles, 2- 1.5in white circles and 2- 1in black circles.  Next, I cut a small triangle from the orange card stock and cut out 2 heart shaped feet.  I used double sided tape to place all of the parts onto the owl's body and hot glued the feet in place.  It seemed like a crazy idea at first because I made 24 of them!  But, it was an easy assembly line.  I also layered the colored card stock so I was able to cut 3 or 4 at the same time and the same for the wings.  I plan to put these in a class tree and I haven't decided if I will write the students name on the owl belly or if I will print the names onto an oval shape that will fit the belly area.  We'll see how much time I have left after my busy summer!  And I can take pride in saying that I made these myself!

Happy Owl Making!
